360fly’s new 360-degree camera will be available this spring.

360fly, Inc., a maker of single-lens, 360-degree video cameras, will launch an action camera this spring. The camera will provide a seamless 360-degree field of view and interactive app-based video interface, the company said. 360fly is demonstrating the camera at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, in Central Hall at VOXX booth #10417.

“We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure we go to market with the most compelling and innovative 360 degree video platform available today,” said Alan Pitney, CEO of 360fly. “We believe we have a differentiated experience with the 360fly camera, and we’re excited to see the reaction from consumers and the unique ways they put this revolutionary video technology to use.”

360fly frees the user from the limitations of traditional video and introduces a 360-degree view around the camera with 240-degree view over the camera — a new way to capture the world around you in 360-degree video format, any moment, any angle, all at once.

Smaller than a baseball, the lightweight, rugged and mountable camera puts users in the director’s chair by allowing the ability to shoot everything in sight from a single video camera, the company said. 360fly video is optimized for mobile devices and social platforms, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the video by swiping, pinching and selecting the angle in the video they wish to view.

Viewers can share, browse, and interact with 360 degree video at 360fly.com and through the 360fly mobile app for iOS and Android. Acting as the camera’s sophisticated remote and viewfinder, the mobile app allows users to quickly playback, edit, and share their video content.

At launch, 360fly will offer a wide range of mounts suitable for action and lifestyle applications.

To distribute 360fly to retail in North America, 360 fly, Inc. has partnered with VOXX Electronics, a wholly owned subsidiary of VOXX International Corporation. Plans for the national rollout will be announced soon and will include a wide variety of retail outlets from consumer electronic retailers, sports specialty stores, camera retailers and direct at 360fly.com.
